Organized

Organized chaos,
Goliath of greed,
Failure of faith,
Nature in need,
Organized crime,
Waged on mankind,
Hate rages onward,
Love lags behind,
Organized profit,
We lose in the end,
When all is used up,
There's nothing to mend,
Organized people,
For and against,
Earth full of enemies,
Not enough friends,
Organized caring,
Too little, too late,
Too much too soon,
We've sealed our fate,
Organized apathy,
Doubles the dare,
Worst thing of all,
Nobody cares,
Organized chaos,
Taking it's toll,
Get off of your ass,
Quit selling your soul.

Fossil Fuel Fools

Fossil fuel fools,
Shipping Texas tea,
Oil rushing through their veins,
Oil on the sea.

Fossil fuel fools,
Peddling Texas tea,
Profit blind and trained to deny,
Responsibility.

Fossil fuel fools,
Have fossils still to make,
Oops, future fossils coated in
Profit's sticky wake.

Fossil fuel fools,
Sleeping at the wheel,
A spill upon the beaches,
Slow, the wounds, to heal.

Fossil fuel frightened,
People losing life,
Lost their living, livelihood,
Disease, decay, strife.

Fossil fuel fools,
The blood is on your hands,
What the hell will you do next,
To destroy this beautiful land.

Fossil fuel fools,
You don't see what's at stake,
Wake up and start the caring,
All you know is take.

Ever After

Cement pillars of smoke,
Rise from the landscape,
Like monuments to death,
As passers by plug their noses,
In disgust.
The sky turns brown,
Like dust to dust,
As the ashes of progress,
Turn to profit and lust,
Life continues, oblivious,
And seemingly helpless,
As the power of money pollutes,
And we close our eyes
To the stench and decay,
And open our hearts in dismay,
And solute the dollar,
As we pay the toll,
On the road to nowhere,
Consuming everything in sight,
Without conscience or guilt,
In a world where the eyes burn
with tears,
And the head worries about fears,
As we keep counting the years,
And can't look at ourselves
in the mirror,
And honestly say we care enough
to act,
With little exception,
And so we stare blankly,
At our futures,
And weep,
And hope that somehow, some way,
The powers of love and peace,
Will conquer the evils of hate and greed,
And we'll all live happily ever after.

If I Look

Blood splattered,
Uncaring,
Self serving,
Race to the bottom.

Diplomatic slaughter.
Was one of them your daughter?
No?
So who gives a fuck… right.

World on greed.
Far worse than speed
Blinded to the bleeding,
The pleading.

Politician complicit,
Death streets run red and crumbly,
This is our humanity,
Spilling.

What I see if I look
Is fear,
What I see if I look,
Is pain,
What I see if I look,
Are people,
Dying.

The cat meows,
It is a quiet night,
But I hear children screaming
In the distance.

There you sit,
Hand on the lever,
Sailing this ship.
To hell.

Well fuck you.

Fly

Gather up the missing pieces,
Drop them on my door step,
Trust in the forgiveness,
That awaits.

I do not know your truth,
Only dancing shadows,
Of the guilt you carry,
In your heart.

There are no demons waiting,
Only angels singing,
Longing to embrace,
Your open wounds.

All we are is human,
Frail and imperfect,
Giving birth to knowledge,
Of the soul.

I can only welcome,
Honest sin and folly,
For I know it's a reflection,
Of my own.

Look into your mirror,
Say hi! to truth and fear,
Pass them to me gently,
You are free.

Wake up dear,
You've slept too long,
Tethered to a dream,
Within a cloud.

Thanks for the gymnastics,
No excercise is futile,
Embrace a memory,
and we will fly.

Apathy

Just want to tune out,

Had enough,

This big old world is rough,

Now I know why apathy is king.

Just want to tune out,

Let go,

Really don't want to know.

I'd fly away if I just had wings.

Just want to tune out,

Have fun,

Look out for number one,

Wait for the warmth of a brand new spring.

Just want to tune out,

Run away,

Really, what's left to say,

Who knows what tomorrow brings.

Just want to tune out,

Powerless,

And it's really quite a horrible mess,

What we say doesn't seem to mean a thing.

Just want to tune out

Wits end,

Tired, getting hard to pretend

Fed up and frustrated my friend

Let me know when the revolution begins.

Trudeau reply

Subject: Re: Your Letter

Dear Kimberly,

Thank you for taking the time to write me, and for sharing your comments regarding the legalization of marijuana. It is important that we continue the exchange of ideas and opinions to facilitate an open dialogue on issues that have a variety of social and economic implications to all Canadians.

I support the legalization of marijuana for a multitude of reasons. The Conservative government has been waging a war on drugs that is not working. Instead of keeping it out of the hands of our kids, it is tying up billions of taxpayers’ dollars and targeting the wrong people. Under the current system, we are seeing criminal organizations profiting from illegal drug dealings, and low-end, marijuana users being locked up with hardened criminals. There are currently over 475,000 Canadians that have been arrested on marijuana-related charges.

Taxation and regulation of marijuana would take profits out of criminal pockets and put them back in the hands of the Canadian people. I believe in the need to end the prohibition of cannabis, and begin a smart crime approach that will target organized gang activity in communities across Canada, instead of our youth. We need to redirect the $500 million that has been spent since the Conservatives came to power, into targeting the organized crime that are profiting, not tying up the courts with end-users arrested with small amounts.

Regulating marijuana will keep it out of the hands of our kids, and address the root causes of crime to eliminate the negative health and social impacts that are felt across the country. Current studies are showing that Canadian youth have easier access to marijuana than they do to alcohol or cigarettes. By creating science and evidence based policies, we can responsibly regulate the distribution and use of marijuana in a way that benefits Canadians both socially and economically. With this approach, marijuana use, and more importantly abuse, can finally be treated as a health issue and not a criminal one.

You also discuss the importance of returning to a compassionate Canada. This is a notion that I can overstate my support for. Canada was traditionally known as a country that offered peacekeeping and unbiased, balanced diplomacy. Under the Harper Conservatives, Canada has become increasingly “black or white” in our foreign affairs and, where we used to be seen as an effective and honest moderator, we have lost that image to many around the world. I apologize for my lack of response on twitter. While it is a fantastic tool for reaching out to as many people as possible, as quickly as possible, it is not always the best medium for a conversation.

Thank you once again for writing to me; I always appreciate it when Canadians take the time to share their concerns with me. And whether everyone is in agreement, it is important that all Canadians have their voices heard.

Sincerely,

Justin P.J. Trudeau
Member of Parliament for Papineau

letter to Justin Trudeau

Hello Mr. Trudeau,

I understand you need donations but for one thing I'm undecided on who to vote for and 2, I'm a pensioner with no real disposable income to donate.

I like many of the things the NDP stand for, as in bringing back a compassionate govt that cares about people who can't make ends meet. Replacing a union bashing, corporate govt with a balanced approach to both. Protecting public health care. Making sure industry is on a short leash and not let off leash like the CPC has done. As a retired refinery operator with 33 yrs in the oil industry, I know full well that it needs proper regulation not self regulation. We should not ask foxes to guard a hen house.

However I think Mulcair's stance on Cannabis is wrong headed and think he has been spreading propaganda about the dangers of "this new Marijuana" that's supposedly far more dangerous than old marijuana. That is simply not true.  I know I lived through the 70's and there was plenty of so called strong marijuana and or hash. You just had to know where to get it.  Even if pot was stronger, or is stronger, it simply means people use less of it. It does not mean it's any more dangerous.  In fact pot is far less dangerous than many things mature adults are trusted with every day. Alcohol, Aspirin, Driving, Gasoline, bungie jumping... lol. Just because something might require caution, does not mean it should be illegal for mature adults.

The current position of the CPC and their new control system for medical marijuana is ridiculous. It prevents mature adults like me from growing for personal use. It prevents people from juicing the plant for medical benefit, it puts people under a govt, police and medical microscope simply for wanting to use a relatively harmless plant. It makes criminals out of harmless grandmothers like me. Many will avoid the med pot program simply because they don't want the govt or the RCMP babysitting them. Medical pot should be a private issue between patient and doctor. What other prescription drug requires govt oversight and rcmp approval ? You don't see the govt or RCMP bothering Shoppers Drug mart or Pfizer do you?

This is a plant that many use simply to relax the same way people drink wine or beer. They do this covertly and in fear of being caught. In fact some people prefer pot over alcohol but instead of it being legal like alcohol it is going to be controlled like a pharmaceutical? So imo this is about control and has very little to do with the "dangers" of this relatively harmless substance. I think people should be able to grow their own if they want. Mature adults should be trusted with this plant. The dangers of this plant have been blown way out of proportion and the problem is that some people actually believe the propaganda.  The laws regarding Cannabis should be no different than the laws for beer and wine. People should be trusted with it, able to grow a few plants themselves, or buy it from a store. As in brewing or wine making, not everyone wants the hassle of home production... but those who do should not be denied that right.

In my opinion the Liberals and NDP should be focusing on getting rid of this insane govt instead of pointing at each other. I am very tired of divide and rule politics. So tired of corruption. So tired of corrupt, cheating politicians plea bargaining their way out of election fraud and fleecing the public. Tired of rigged investigations. So tired of corporations and rich CEOs getting the welfare they want and the poor being cut off the welfare they actually need ! There are no good jobs trickling down from corporate welfare. In fact I am sick of so called "free trade"... when the real meaning of free trade is giving the right to CEOs to go shopping elsewhere for slave labour. It has been a scourge to the manufacturing sector and the middle class which is the engine of a strong economy.  You need to read the truth about Canada by Mel Hurtig and watch "Crime of the Canadian banking system" on youtube...by Bill Abram.  I'm quite tired of the deception of our various govts...past and present. I want leader who is going to assert our independence and bring in sane trade, sane banking practices, sane management of the economy. As it is, it's a corrupt scheming sham. I want a Canada first, globalist second approach. I want an end to secret back room international business meetings unless they are used to discuss benevolence; As if...lol . good luck with that.

Ideally I would like to see co-operation and consensus and possible power sharing situation between Lib and NDP...even if it's just temporary. In order to get this country back on a sane footing. If not, I'm worried about another split vote and another CPC bull headed, my way or the highway govt.  In my opinion many of the things Harper has done in secret are criminal. In fact treasonous. He talks of protecting sovereignty one minute and sells us out in back room deals the next. This guy is either not all their, or working for global corporate outside interests and not the interests of Canada, it's peoples, or it's environment.

As far and your positions on other issues go, its hard to make a judgment because I'm not familiar with most of them. I do know that getting every policy I want in one candidate is impossible...unless of course there is some kind of sane merge and/or sharing of ideas and power. However both you and Mulcair have taken an adversarial approach to each other and that is sad, politics as usual, BS.   I know what I don't want, and that's a Liberal party that's moving right...you need to remain a centrist party with compassion for the less fortunate. I also I know I don't like an NDP who's leader is spouting reefer madness nonsense.

I just know I want peace keeping, compassionate Canada back. Harperland is so depressing, so discouraging. I worry about the future of my 3 grand kids in this country.  I want some kind of true, open, transparent accountability. I want the lies of the CPC to be defeated and I want real truth and trust in the sciences, support for the arts, support for those who are unable to support themselves and promotions of companies that actually produce good jobs with good benefits. The TFW program  is a disgrace. Not paying interns is a disgrace. We need fact based policy in this country not greed based deception.

What bothers me is I've asked both you and Mulcair some serious question on twitter and all I heard back was crickets... aka nothing.

I was told by a supporter of yours that if I write to an email address, I would get a response. So I'll wait patiently for a response, not from a designated form letter factory but from YOU personally. ...and believe me, I'm smart enough to know the difference.

thanks for your time.

Spam

These words but letters strung together,
These thoughts but whispers in a storm,
These tears but reflections of a moment,
Absent without leave, devoid of form.

These hearts cry out for love and understanding,
These ears are not receptive to the waves,
These voices cry out in hopeless desperation,
Hoping for a miracle, to save.

You know I used to love this fucking planet,
But the more I look the more I want to puke,
These money grubbing scum have over run it,
Left us with a steaming pile of nukes.

These times, they are made for revolution,
But everyone is hunched over like a crone,
Sitting in the dark behind a keyboard,
Like islands, deserted and alone.

These words don't mean a thing to you I reckon,
I'm just another idiot who cares,
But money has us all over a barrel,
And far too many hoard instead of share.

These words, but letters strung together,
A vain attempt to reach out beyond the sham
Communication for the ones who listen,
And to the greedy, selfish bastards it's just spam.
