I've grown, some distance,
From my fears,
My eyes are empty now,
There's no more tears,
No more guilt,
And no more pain, somehow,
I've grown, to gather,
Thoughts of peace,
To quiet, those of war,
And long time battles, waged within,
Don't haunt me, any more,
I've grown in strength,
Accept my faults,
Perfection, just a dream,
For goals you set,
Beyond your reach,
Are seldom, what they seem,
I've grown,
Through squandered innocence,
And found, you're never free,
When you taint your soul,
With ignorance, spite and jealousy,
I've grown, forgiven,
Lived and lied,
My selfishness, forsaken,
And skill and luck,
Are now my friends,
That is...if I am not mistaken.
