Just a Thought

Fresh blood stains the street again,
Another young child dies in vain,
Guns for the enemies,
Guns for the friends,
Lead poisoning money, talks,
Feel the pain of a million gone,
Never again to touch the dawn,
Eyes and ears burn and bleed,
And still no answer comes,
One gives solutions, nobody heeds,
Too many mysteries, not enough leads,
Teaching hate through thoughtless deeds,
And love stands naked at the door,
Parents give birth to an innocent child,
Potentially meek, potentially wild,
A product of what ever is filed,
In the brain of the teachers head,
Covetous, wanton, money breeds power,
Corruption follows, foul and sour,
Decisions made, eleventh hour,
Too late, too little, too bad,
Anything for money, dead end street,
Evil, love is blind, repeat,
Rise with pride, and fall in the heat,
Of passion's deadly grasp,
Early childhood, learning lessons,
Have to make a good impression,
Or all will, ends in true confessions,
Of a cause, long lost,
What we teach, is what we've tasted,
Wisdom wanted, wisdom wasted,
Our dinner is done, this turkey's basted,
Now eat your words and pray,
Who is right and who is wrong,
It's never mattered all along,
We're different and the same, in one,
So give your heart away,
We're born, we live, we love, we die,
We hate, we cheat, we steal, we lie,
We're products of a girl and guy,
And we think we're so important,
We're little packets of flesh and blood,
Good and evil, hate and love,
Top of the food chain, bottom of the barrel,
Just trying to survive,
A word of wisdom to the wise,
I think, ourselves, we should despise,
And what's become, has been before,
And always will, forever more,
For good and evil, love and hate,
Are learned, and taught, and penetrate,
The very being of the soul,
As a constant, conflicting, perpetual, black hole,
Deeds are done, words just spoken,
Promises made, and rules broken,
Minds are closed, and hard to open,
So what are we to do,
Just a thought, for I've been thinking,
I don't know why I do,
Just yours sincerely, wishing for,
A dream, that won't come true.
